AI4Padel vs Matchpoint: recording the club is not filling it
The short answer: Matchpoint records your club and AI4Padel is built to fill it. Matchpoint runs the calendar, the till and the academy, and it has been doing it for years. But when the 7:30pm match is one short, a calendar does not tell you who to call. AI4Padel does: it shows you the gap hours ahead, picks which of your players fits and tells you why, and leaves the invitation written. You send it in one click from the club’s WhatsApp, and the «yes» you note down seats the fourth.

Two programs with two different ideas of what club software is for.
The comparison at a glance
This table compares what each one is built for, not who has more buttons. Matchpoint’s catalogue is wider than this page.
The Matchpoint column comes from what their own website advertises, checked 25-09-2026. Their catalogue has levels, rankings, a CRM and push alerts. What is not there is anything that proposes to the club which specific player to invite, or that prepares the message for you.
| Matchpoint | AI4Padel | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is built for | Running the club: calendar, till, academy, passes | Filling the court: who to write to and why that person |
| Who fills the 7:30pm | The player, if they open the app | The club, from its own WhatsApp |
| The criterion for building the four | A level number per player, and a filter on that number | Level, position, who they’ve played with and when they can play. Plus the reason written beside each name |
| The message to the player | Newsletters from your templates, or a push alert to the app | It leaves it written and opens the club’s WhatsApp with it in place |
| Where it reaches them | In the app, if installed and with alerts on | On WhatsApp, from the club number they already have saved |
| Analytics | Occupancy and income, filterable and exportable to Excel | Occupancy, the weak hours, and who to write to today |
| Price | Custom quote | Flat, from €49/month |
A level filter and a criterion are different things. The filter leaves you a list of whoever qualifies; the criterion tells you which one to start with and why, and lets you argue with it. That is the third row, and it is why the product exists.
What Matchpoint does well
Let us say it plainly, because it is true: Matchpoint is an established management program, your team already knows it and your club’s history lives inside it. Bookings, till, academy and passes work. If all you need is to record what happens, you have it solved.
The gap a calendar does not fill
Here is the uncomfortable part. A management program knows at nine in the morning that the 7:30pm match is one short. It knows all morning and all afternoon. And at 7:30pm it is still one short, because recording is not acting: nobody has written to anybody.
That work is yours: checking the grid, remembering who fits, writing one by one, chasing whoever does not answer. It is the WhatsApp afternoon no management program sees or counts. And every gap left uncovered is money that does not come in: 90 court booking runs at around €24 on average in Spain, according to Playtomic’s own annual report.
The difference is the criterion
Picking who to write to is not printing a list of players. AI4Padel looks at eight things before proposing a name: the level and where that level came from, the position and whether the pair holds up, the slot they actually play in, who they have played well with, whether they usually say yes, and how long since they last came. And it subtracts: if they have just said no to that hour, or the club noted «better not with X», they drop down the list.
That is not a black box. Every name carries its reason beside it — «usually plays in this slot (afternoons)», «outside their hours» — and a fit score. You can argue with the criterion, which is exactly what you cannot do with an app that pairs you with strangers.
How it works, entry by entry, is in How AI4Padel decides who to invite.
Your players in on day one
There is no long migration. You upload your player spreadsheet and AI4Padel proposes which column is the name and which the phone; if you run the club from memory, it starts from scratch in under ten minutes. Levels come in with their origin marked on the card, so you know whether the club set it or it came from your file.
And the other way round too: if you leave one day, you take your data and the club carries on as it was. How data comes in, in this guide.
The work no program does
Look at the whole market, not just Matchpoint. A booking system records what happens. A marketplace captures people from outside. A spreadsheet stores. None of the three does the one thing that fills the 7:30pm court: working out which of your players fits there, deciding who to write to, and writing to them.
That work exists, you are the one doing it — from memory, in the afternoon, one by one — and it appears in no software budget because until now no software did it. It is the last part of a manager’s day that is still handmade, and it is exactly the part that decides whether the court fills.
That is what AI4Padel does, and it is what you will not find on a management program’s feature list: not because they do it worse, but because it is not in their idea of what club software is for.
And if you would rather pay for one product
The two programs can live side by side, and for what Esencial costs it pays off: closing one extra match a week already covers it. But there is a toll, and I would rather tell you before you find it yourself: the matches you close here, you enter there by hand.
That is why what we recommend is ending up with a single tool. The Completo plan is AI4Padel running the whole club: you pay for one product instead of two, and your players live in one place.
What you get inside:
- What your management program gives you today. Your own bookings, commission-free payments, passes, dues, memberships and certified invoicing.
- And on top, what a management program does not do. Seeing the gap, picking who fits and leaving the message written. That is where all of this came from.
- The assistant. You ask it about your club like you would a colleague: «what is left half-built this week?», «who do I call for the eight o’clock?».
- A new interface. Fewer clicks for the things you do twenty times a day.
And the manual entry ends: if the calendar is this one, there is nothing to pass on to anywhere.
Today you reserve a seat, and you do not need it to start. You start on Esencial and, when it arrives, your players, their cards and your match history are already inside.
When to switch and when not to
- Switch if your problem is not recording but filling: matches one short, confirmations that drag on, players going cold without you noticing, and weekday hours nobody fills. That is nearly every club with more than four courts.
- Stay as you are if your club is small, you lose no gaps and you have the afternoon free for WhatsApp. If it does not hurt, do not operate.
- Wait for the Completo plan if you also want your own bookings, commission-free payments, passes and certified invoicing in the same tool. Today you reserve a seat.
Quick questions
Do I have to migrate data to start? You upload your player spreadsheet, or start from scratch. In under ten minutes the club is in.
Do my players have to install anything? No. They get a WhatsApp from the club’s number, as always.
What happens to the levels I had written down? They come in with their origin marked: you know whether a level was set by the club or came from your file.
How much does it cost? Flat pricing from €49/month, no setup fee, no lock-in and no commissions. And you get a 7-day free trial: you try it with your own courts before paying anything.
Do you run your club on Matchpoint? Even better: the demo runs on your real data. Book a 15-minute demo and we will show you what AI4Padel would have proposed for your week.
